Tools Menu

The Tools Menu provides the options to set hearing aids back to factory settings, swap fitting sessions, maintain programmers, show/hide Media Player and Surround Town, reset the data log, calibrate speakers for Surround Town, access Integrated Real Ear, Auto Path, Speech Mapping, Performance Update, and Feedback Manager, change a receiver, run wireless diagnostics, read and program any Starkey Hearing Technologies' brand hearing aid, and lock/unlock hearing aids. Click on any option below for more information.

• Set to Factory Settings - Resets the connected hearing aid(s) back to the default settings

• Swap Fit - Transfers settings from a previous fitting session from one hearing aid to another hearing aid that may differ by product family, tier, style, or feature set

• Programmers - Searches and selects a default programmer

• Show Media Player/Hide Media Player - Launches Media Player to play and record audio files for the patient during a fitting session and closes Media Player. On the Tools Menu, Show Media Player and Hide Media Player toggle between each other based on the option currently selected.

• Reset Data Log - Resets the Data Log to erase all current data in the hearing aid(s) and begin logging new data effective this date

  1. Connect and select the desired hearing aid(s) to reset via Get Started.

  2. Click Quick Connect or Session Connect.

  3. Click Tools from the Menu Bar.

  4. Click Reset Data Log and a dialog box appears asking you to confirm the reset.

  5. To reset only the right or left hearing aid, uncheck Right or Left.

  6. Click Yes to clear the data log from the selected hearing aid(s).

     Tip:  Click No to cancel the reset.

• Sound Calibration... - Calibrates the PC's speakers in preparation for using Surround Town

• Show Surround Town/Hide Surround Town - Launches Surround Town to adjust the patient's hearing aids while simulating real world situations and redisplays fitting graphs (Hide Surround Town). On the Tools Menu, Show Surround Town and Hide Surround Town toggle between each other based on the option currently selected.

• Real Ear Measure (Integrated/Live) - Measures the patient's real ear response

• Adult Auto Path - Launches a wizard to assist in completing the initial fitting of an adult hearing aid patient

• Pediatric Auto Path - Launches a wizard to assist in completing the initial fitting of a pediatric hearing aid patient

• Speech Mapping - Verifies speech audibility and comfort

• Change Receiver - Replaces the receiver in RIC hearing aids

• Performance Update - Updates the hearing aid's firmware to operate at a more advanced performance level, oftentimes making new features available

• Wireless Diagnostics - Troubleshoots issues with wireless connections and provides solutions to the problems

• Add Code - Allows you to read and program any brand of Starkey Hearing Technologies' hearing aid by entering an encrypted code provided by Customer Service  

  1. Disconnect the hearing aid(s) and locate the serial number(s).

  2. Contact Customer Service and give the representative the serial number for each hearing aid, if applicable. The representative will provide a code for each hearing aid which must be entered into Inspire.

     Note:  The code(s) can be emailed if desired.

  3. Click Tools from the Menu Bar.

  4. Click Add Code.

  5. Enter the 16 alphanumeric code provided by Customer Service.

  6. Click Add to add the code to Inspire and a confirmation message displays.

     Tip:  If the code was not accepted, repeat steps 5-6.

     Tip:  Click Close to cancel adding the code.

  7. Repeat steps 5-6 to enter another code, if applicable.

  8. Click Close.

  9. Reconnect and select the hearing aid(s) via Get Started.

• Feedback Manager - Launches PureWave Feedback Eliminator or Active Feedback Intercept to prevent feedback in a wide variety of environments

• Device Access Settings... - Locks hearing aid fitting data to prevent unauthorized users from making any modifications and unlocks hearing aids that are locked
