Wireless Diagnostics

Wireless Diagnostics assists in troubleshooting issues with your wireless connection and provides solutions to the identified problems. Three components of your wireless connection are checked: programmer status, environmental status, and wireless communications status. Each component contains several subtests and all subtests within a component must pass before the next component can be checked. If a subtest within a component fails, wireless diagnostics is aborted.

The quality of the wireless environment in your fitting area can also be assessed. Inspire logs any wireless interference in your local environment and displays it on a real-time graph. These diagnostic results can be emailed to Inspire Software/Audiology Support for assistance.

  1. Click Tools from the Menu Bar.

  2. Click Wireless Diagnostics.

Note:  If a session is currently in progress that hasn't been saved, the Save Fitting screen displays. Click Yes to save the session, click No to not save the session, or click Cancel to cancel wireless diagnostics.
  3. Click Start and a progress icon indicates the overall status of completion.

Tip:  The Close button changes to Cancel. Click Cancel to cancel wireless diagnostics.

Note:  If a subtest within any component passes, it's represented by a green checkmark. If any subtest fails, a red X displays along with recommendation(s) to solve the problem and wireless diagnostics is aborted. Follow the recommendation(s) and once the problem is resolved, click Start to resume wireless diagnostics.
  4. When the component Wireless Communications Status is reached, the connection toast displays to select a wireless device. Click the checkbox to the left of the desired hearing aid(s) to test.

Tip:  If the desired hearing aid(s) is not listed in the toast but is in range of the SurfLink programmer and contains a fresh battery, click Refresh.
  5. Click OK.

Tip:  Click Cancel to abort wireless diagnostics.
  6. When instructed, place the hearing aid(s) 1 meter from the SurfLink programmer.

  7. Click OK.

  8. When instructed, place the hearing aid(s) 3 meters from the SurfLink programmer.
