Change Receiver

Change Receiver replaces the receiver matrix in RIC hearing aids. The receiver type (stock or custom embedded) and matrix are selected and the option to preserve instrument settings can be checked for all products except Advance 21 and Advance 20. Settings such as memories, feature settings, fitting formula, etc. are transferred to the hearing aid with the new receiver, if this option is checked. Feedback Canceller, Real Ear Measurement, and/or Self Check initializations are not transferred, therefore, it is recommended you run these after the change receiver process is complete. In addition, all hearing aids are set to Full On Gain (FOG).

  1. Connect and select the desired hearing aid(s) in which to change the receiver via Get Started.

  2. Click Quick Connect or Session Connect.

  3. Click Tools from the Menu Bar.

  4. Click Change Receiver.

Note:  This feature is only available in a live fitting.

Tip:  For Advance 26, Advance 26 Micro, Advance 24, Advance 25, Advance 23, and Advance 22 products, click Acoustic Options Acoustic Options from select Fitting screens and click Change Receiver Matrix. For Advance 21 and Advance 20 products, click Acoustic Options Acoustic Options from select fitting graphs and click Change Receiver Change Receiver.
  5. Replace the receiver(s).

Note:  For select products, the microphone cover must be released first prior to detaching the old receiver. Once the new receiver is attached, replace the microphone cover.

  7. Select the new receiver type and matrix if applicable.

Note:  The current session receiver type and matrix display. Based on the receiver type selected determines the matrix options available.
  8. Uncheck Preserve instrument settings if you do not want to transfer the settings from the current session to the hearing aid(s) with the new receiver, if applicable.

Note:  This feature is not available for Advance 21 or Advance 20 products or when selecting a receiver (not changing a receiver).
  9. Click OK.

Note:  It's important to remove the hearing aid(s) from the patient's ear(s) prior to changing the receiver.

Note:  This button is only enabled if a new receiver type and/or matrix was selected.

Tip:  Click Cancel to cancel the receiver change.

Note:  If a different receiver matrix is selected, the Save Fitting screen displays. Click Yes to save the session, click No to not save the session, or click Cancel to cancel the receiver change process.
  10. Click Update.

Note:  Do not disconnect the hearing aid(s) from the computer during the change receiver process. If a different receiver matrix was selected, the hearing aid(s) is automatically muted. If a different receiver matrix was not selected, the hearing aid(s) is not automatically muted unless muted previously.

Tip:  Click Cancel to cancel the receiver change.
  11. Click Close once the process is complete.

  12. Based on the product and its settings, either Auto Path, PureWave Feedback Eliminator, Active Feedback Intercept, or Get Started automatically displays, or a new fitting session begins.

Note:  If Auto Path or Get Started is launched, the hearing aid(s) remains muted or is muted if not muted previously. If PureWave Feedback Eliminator or Active Feedback Intercept is launched, the hearing aid(s) remains in its current state (muted or unmuted).
