Load Settings

Whenever a previously saved live fitting session is opened via Noah, PatientBase, ProHear, Inspire Toolbar, or the File Menu, a message to load the settings into connected devices displays. If Yes is selected, the Devices Detected pop-up automatically displays to select the desired hearing aids. All the hearing aids detected displays for selection. However, if Inspire detects hearing aids that require using Pro Fit software to program the devices, a message displays. Click Open Pro Fit to either launch the software or install it. If No is selected but loading the settings into connected devices is later warranted during the live retrieved fitting session, the Devices Detected pop-up can be launched manually to select the desired hearing aids. If the settings are transferred, the retrieved fitting session automatically overwrites all existing fitting settings in the selected hearing aids.

If fitting one hearing aid and a second hearing aid is desired during the fitting, or if simulating and a live fitting is later desired, the Devices Detected pop-up cannot be launched manually to add a second aid or start a live fitting. Rather, you must navigate back to the Get Started screen and select the hearing aids to program.

  1. Open a previously saved live fitting session via Noah, PatientBase, ProHear, Inspire Toolbar, or the File Menu and a message to load the settings into connected devices displays.
Note:  Only a previously saved live fitting session can be transferred to connected devices. To transfer a previously saved simulated fitting session to connected devices, see Load a Previous Session.
  2. Click Yes and the Devices DetectedDevices Detected pop-up displays.
Note:  All hearing aids connected to any programmer displays. If wireless hearing aids are within range of the Starkey 2.4 GHz Wireless/TruLink, Noahlink Wireless 2, Noahlink Wireless, or SurfLink Programmer and contain fresh batteries but aren't detected, click Refresh to execute a manual discovery. The hearing aids with the strongest signal are listed first. If programming 2.4 GHz products that have been paired and are currently connected to an iOS device, either Bluetooth on the iOS device or the device itself must be turned off in order for the Starkey 2.4 GHz Wireless/TruLink, Noahlink Wireless 2, or Noahlink Wireless Programmer to read and program the aids.
Note:  Only the wired and/or wireless programmers selected via Programmers can detect hearing aids. If you're having trouble establishing a wireless connection to the hearing aids you want to fit, click View Programmers to detect all available programmers.
Tip:  Click No to not load the settings into connected devices. To load the settings later during the same live retrieved fitting session, click Load Settings and the Devices Detected pop-up displays.

    Patient Information

Patient's name, product, matrix, serial number, and firmware version. The patient's name only displays if the wireless hearing aid was previously fit to the patient and Show Patient Name for Wireless Devices is selected via Wireless Preferences. If not selected, the patient's name displays in a tool tip by pointing to the hearing aid information.

Push to locate this wireless device

Locates the hearing aid by playing a tone in the device. Only displays for wireless hearing aids.

Indicates the battery strength visually and numerically. Black represents greater than 25% battery life and red represents less than 25%. If the battery life on a rechargeable product is low or less than 25%, an alert displays. Recharge the device first to prevent losing power during programming. Only displays for wireless hearing aids except Evolv AI, Livio Edge AI, Livio AI, and Livio non-rechargeable products.

    assign R/L

Selects the hearing aid side. Only displays for standard wireless hearing aids or wired hearing aids that are connected to the wrong cable. If two hearing aids are paired and one of the sides is changed (e.g., L to R), the opposite aid will change automatically (e.g., R to L).

    Load Settings

Loads the settings into the selected device(s). This button is only enabled if a hearing aid was selected.

  3. Click the checkbox to the left of the desired hearing aid(s) to load the settings into.
  4. Click Start.
Note:  If changes were made to the live retrieved fitting session that weren't saved, the Save As a New Fitting screen displays. Click Yes to save the session to Noah, PatientBase, or ProHear, click No to not save the session, or click Cancel to cancel loading the settings into the selected hearing aid(s).
Note:  If the hearing aid(s) contains a lock code and it doesn't match the code via General Preferences, it must be entered to unlock the aid before the settings can be loaded. Enter the 4 digit code and click OK. If the correct code is entered or if the code matched the code via General Preferences initially, the hearing aid is automatically unlocked and must be locked again if desired via Device Access Settings. If the code is unknown, click Cancel to cancel loading the settings and return to the Get Started screen or click Clear Settings and Reset Device to clear all settings and patient data from the hearing aid and return it to the default settings.
Note:  Inspire requires a minimum of four audiometric thresholds at 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 Hz to fit adult patients and a minimum of two thresholds between 250 and 6000 Hz to fit pediatric patients. If any of these thresholds are missing on the patient's audiogram, Inspire now automatically predicts the missing data and provides the option to either use this predicted data or edit the audiogram. If there's a conflict between the audiogram in the hearing aid and Noah, PatientBase, or ProHear, a dialog box displays asking which audiogram to use. Click Hearing Aid to use the hearing aid's audiogram or click Office System to use Noah, PatientBase, or ProHear's audiogram. If there's a conflict between the fitting formula in the hearing aid and the default fitting formula selected in Inspire, a dialog box displays asking which fitting formula to use. Click on the radio button representing the desired fitting formula to use and if the option selected should apply to all future conflicts, click the checkbox Remember my preference and don’t ask me again to bypass this message in the future. Click Continue to use the selected fitting formula or click Cancel to cancel the fitting and return to the Get Started screen. If the default fitting formula was selected, a Best Fit All Memories is automatically performed on the applicable hearing aid(s).
Note:  If paired wireless hearing aids were selected that don't have matching wireless capabilities and the same configuration, the Wireless Settings Conflict dialog displays asking you to select which device has the desired functionality for your fitting. Click Select for the source hearing aid and Inspire automatically changes the settings in the other hearing aid to match those of the selected hearing aid or click Cancel to cancel the fitting and return to the Get Started screen. See Wireless Programming for more information.
Tip:  Click X on the Title Bar to close the Devices Detected pop-up without selecting a hearing aid.
Note:  If the live retrieved fitting session does not match the selected hearing aid's fitting session, Swap Fit automatically launches if the hearing aid is compatible. If the hearing aid is incompatible, the transfer is cancelled and a message to select a different fitting session displays. Click Yes to select a different fitting session or click No to not open a different fitting and return to the live retrieved fitting session.
  5. Once the session is successfully loaded, a message displays. Click OK.
  6. Program the hearing aid(s).
Note:  As the hearing aid(s) is programmed, the connection status icons will change.
Note:  If programming a wireless hearing aid and the connection is lost during the fitting, Inspire automatically attempts to reestablish connection for 15 seconds. If this is unsuccessful, a message displays indicating the specific side(s) that went out of range and to reestablish connection. See Wireless Programming for more information.
Note:  If programming a wireless hearing aid, the physical user control, if applicable, is disabled during the fitting. Once the fitting session is complete, the physical user controls can be re-enabled to test the hearing aid without exiting Inspire. See Wireless Programming for more information.
