Fitting
Fitting programs the patient's hearing aid(s) using a variety of features
including Fine Tuning, Frequency Lowering, and Noise Control to precisely
fit the devices based on the patient's lifestyle and desires. Click on
any option below for more information.
- QuickFit -
Makes simple and quick adjustments to the patient's hearing aid(s)
and accesses Fine
Tuning,
Experience Level,
Feedback Canceller,
and/or Self Check (for
older products)
- Fine Tuning
- Makes discrete, frequency-specific adjustments to band,
channel,
and maximum output
- User
Controls - Configures patient controls for volume control, memory,
tinnitus, balance control, mute, accessory stream, accessory volume,
manual
alert, power off, Thrive
assistant, Edge
Mode, autophone memories, and T² remote control, depending upon whether
or not the hearing aid contains a physical switch, syncs binaural
wireless hearing aids to communicate with each other, manages phone
calls, controls the amount of VC reserve gain or Tinnitus reserve
output available, or enables/disables Self Learning and/or level
resets
- CROS/BiCROS
- Customizes the patient's receiver aid based on his/her lifestyle
by configuring the mode for each memory and adjusting the level of
sounds coming from the transmitter relative to the receiver aid
- Experience
Manager - Transitions a new, inexperienced hearing aid patient
from initial, spontaneously accepted gain settings to the final, desired,
target settings
- Feedback
Canceller - Prevents feedback in a wide variety of environments
by setting the desired adjustment control (Off, Static, or Adaptive)
per memory
- Patient
Tools - Performs a diagnostic test of the components in your patient's
hearing aids (Self Check),
conducts TeleHear Remote Services,
and/or enables/disables Auto Fall Alert
- Compression - Makes
discrete, frequency-specific adjustments to threshold kneepoints and
compression ratio per memory and channel
- Frequency
Lowering - Translates inaudible, high frequency, speech information
to a lower frequency region so it's audible
- Sound/Environment
Manager/Noise Control
- Prioritizes speech in noise by making discrete adjustments per memory
to a variety of environments and directionality, and enhances sound
quality and reduces listening effort by automatically adjusting synced
wireless hearing aids to facilitate the best signal-to-noise ratio
(SNR) and comfort in any listening situation
- Tinnitus
- Generates a white noise stimulus and allows you to make discrete,
frequency-specific band adjustments per memory
- Memories
- Selects environments that will modify the frequency shaping and/or
compression characteristics of the hearing aid within that memory
- Accessories
- Selects and configures accessories to adjust volume, memory,
etc. using a remote control or stream audio from a mobile phone,
MP3 player, computer, television, DVD player, remote microphone,
etc. directly to wireless hearing aids
- Indicators
- Sets and adjusts the signals that inform the patient of a low battery,
memory change, volume increase/decrease, etc., selects the language
for speech indicators, and enables/disables any desired indicators
- Fitting
Summary - Provides a quick visual overview of the hearing aid’s
features and setting information including memory environments,
noise control, indicators, status, etc.
- Data
Log - Analyzes actual patient data collected while the patient
was wearing the hearing aids in different environments, applies recommendations
based on the data, demonstrates the usage and benefit of amplification
to the patient and their family, and troubleshoots issues during follow-up
visits
