Patient Tools performs a diagnostic test of the components in your patient's hearing aids (Self Check), conducts TeleHear Remote Services, and/or enables/disables Auto Fall Alert.

Self Check performs a diagnostic test of the components in your patient's hearing aids. Once a baseline is measured for the receiver, microphone, circuit, and heart rate sensor (if applicable), a diagnostic test can be run via Inspire or the Thrive Hearing Control app. If the results determine that a component is not performing to baseline or fails the test, the hearing aid may need to be cleaned or sent in for repair.
Self Check BaselineSelf Check Baseline
The Self Check Baseline is performed during the initial fitting for Livio AI and Livio products, while the hearing aid is connected to Inspire. The measurement must be performed in a quiet environment, while the devices lay on a flat hard surface with the receiver facing up. The baseline is obtained by the hearing professional and it is assumed that the device is performing optimally. The Self Check Baseline measures and records the status of the microphone, receiver, circuit, and heart rate sensor.
It is recommended that additional baseline measurements are performed after any factory repairs, as baseline data is cleared by the factory.
For Evolv AI and Livio Edge AI products, the Self Check Baseline is set by the factory. However, if there are changes to the acoustic options, the baseline threshold is automatically updated.
Self Check DiagnosisSelf Check Diagnosis
Subsequent Self Check measurements, referred to as Self Check Diagnosis, can be performed by the patient in the field or by the professional in their office. Self Check Diagnosis measures are compared to the baseline to determine status.
After each successful completion, the hearing aids report status to the patient or professional.
The most recently collected Self Check data stored in the hearing aid can be viewed in Inspire. Test results saved to a previous fitting session can be viewed if retrieved.

Note: If testing CROS/BiCROS devices, only the receiver aid can be tested, therefore, the side cannot be selected.
Note: It's recommended that Self Check be performed in a quiet environment (baseline ≤ 60 dB SPL; diagnostic test ≤ 85 dB SPL) with no speech/talking.

Note: This button is only enabled during a live fitting for Livio AI and Livio products. If the baseline was successful for a component, displays. If unsuccessful, displays. |
Tip: The Set Baseline button changes to Cancel during the measurement. Click Cancel to cancel the measurement.
Note: If the baseline was set previously, it can be run again if desired.

Note: This button is only enabled during a live fitting if the baseline was set previously.
Tip: The Begin Test button changes to Cancel during the test. Click Cancel to cancel the test.
Tip: The patient can also run the test in the Thrive Hearing Control app by tapping Run Diagnostic via Settings>Self Check.
