Fitting
Fitting programs the patient's hearing aid(s) using various features, including Fine Tuning, Frequency Lowering, and Sound Manager, to precisely fit the devices based on the patient's lifestyle and desires. It also assists in testing and verifying the patient's hearing aid(s) during follow-up visits. Click on any option below for more information.
- Quick Fit - Makes simple and quick adjustments to the patient's hearing aid(s) and accesses Fine Tuning
- Fine Tuning - Makes discrete, frequency-specific adjustments to channel and maximum output
- Feedback Canceller - Prevents feedback in a wide variety of environments by setting the desired adjustment control (Off, Static, or Adaptation) per program
- User Controls - Configures and demonstrates patient controls for volume control, program, tinnitus, balance control, mute, accessory stream, manual alert, sleep mode, Smart Assistant, Edge Mode+, offline mode, autophone programs, and T2 remote control, depending upon whether or not the hearing aid contains a physical switch, syncs binaural wireless hearing aids to communicate with each other, manages power-on delay and phone calls, controls the amount of VC reserve gain or Tinnitus reserve output available, or enables/disables level resets
- CROS/BiCROS - Customizes the patient's receiver aid based on his/her lifestyle by configuring the mode for each program and adjusting the level of sounds coming from the transmitter relative to the receiver aid
- Experience - Transitions a new, inexperienced hearing aid patient from initial, spontaneously accepted gain settings to the final, desired target settings
- Programs - Selects environments that will modify the frequency shaping and/or compression characteristics of the hearing aid within that program
- Indicators - Sets and adjusts the signals that inform the patient of a low battery, program change, volume increase/decrease, etc., selects the language for speech indicators, and enables/disables any desired indicators
- Sound Manager - Prioritizes speech in noise by making discrete adjustments per program to a variety of environments and directionality, enhances sound quality, and reduces listening effort by automatically adjusting synced wireless hearing aids to facilitate the best signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and comfort in any listening situation
- Data Log - Analyzes actual patient data collected while the patient was wearing the hearing aids in different environments, demonstrates the usage and benefit of amplification to the patient and their family, and troubleshoots issues during follow-up visits
- Audio Streaming - Demonstrates the streaming sound from a paired phone or accessory and adjusts the response
- Accessories - Pairs and configures accessories to adjust volume, program, etc., using a remote control or stream audio from a mobile phone, MP3 player, computer, television, DVD player, remote microphone, etc., directly to wireless hearing aids
- Frequency Lowering - Translates inaudible, high-frequency, speech information to a lower frequency region so it's audible
- Tinnitus - Generates a stimulus that can either be a specific noise response, shaped based on the patient’s audiogram, or personalized with In-situ testing and allows you to make discrete, frequency-specific band adjustments per program
- Speech Mapping - Verifies good speech audibility and comfort
- Self Check - Performs a diagnostic test of the components in your patient's hearing aids
- Hearing Aid Test - Tests the hearing aids by either setting to full on gain to measure manufacturing specifications in a test box, setting to user gain to test individual adaptive features, or setting to reference test gain to test volume control gain, the telecoil, and compression ratios
- Audiometer - Obtains threshold and uncomfortable levels in dB HL by generating pure tone signals through the patient's hearing aid(s) to assist in more accurately programming the device(s) during the initial fit
- Verify Comfort - Confirms that loud and soft inputs sound satisfactory to the patient by presenting a sequence of tones across the frequency response curve
- TeleHear - Opens the TeleHear panel for remote programming
