Verify Comfort
Verify Comfort confirms that loud and soft inputs sound satisfactory to the patient by presenting a sequence of tones across the frequency response curve. The tones can be presented in an upward or downward sweeping method across the entire curve, a preselected range of frequencies, or at a single frequency. The speed at which the tones are presented can be selected. If adjustments are needed, they can be made graphically via this screen for select products.
Verify Comfort is available during a live or remote programming fitting or simulation; however, tones cannot be presented if simulated. In addition, tones can only be presented to the *Personal program.
- Connect and select the desired hearing aid(s) to verify via Connect.

Note: In a live fitting, the hearing aid(s) must be in the patient's ear(s). -
Click Connect.
- Click Verify Comfort from the Left Navigation Menu.

Note: Regardless of the Target Levels selected via Target Preferences, only the response curves for soft (50 dB) and loud (90 dB) displays. If Display Max Output Line on all SPL Graphs is selected via General Preferences, maximum output displays but cannot be adjusted graphically. Audiometric thresholds and UCLs are never displayed even if Display Thresholds and UCLs is selected via General Preferences. In addition, regardless of the graphical view currently selected, either 2cc Coupler Output or Real Ear Response, and Input Type: Sinusoid displays on the fitting graph, therefore, no speech corrections will be applied to the loud and soft outputs. Note: Verify Comfort is a monaural function and by default, starts on the right ear in a binaural fitting. Click
to verify the left ear first if desired. If fitting CROS/BiCROS devices, only the receiver aid can be verified, therefore, the side cannot be selected. - Pro Fit automatically selects the lowest frequency grab handle available on the soft response curve. To start at a different frequency, click on the desired grab handle. To present tones for a sequential group of frequencies, click on the beginning grab handle, press and hold Shift, and click on the ending grab handle, and all grab handles between the two clicks will be selected. To present tones at a non-sequential group of frequencies, press and hold Ctrl and click on the desired grab handles.

Note: Selected grab handles are indicated by a solid
circle and the range of potential adjustments are shown by a shaded region around the grab handles.Tip: Click
for patient instructions. - Click on the radio button representing the desired Sweeping Speed.
Note: Slow presents the tones every 1000 milliseconds (1 second), Medium every 600 milliseconds, and Fast every 300 milliseconds. The default is Slow. - Click
to present the tones sweeping up (from low to high frequencies) or click
to present the tones sweeping down (from high to low frequencies).
Note: The hearing aid is automatically muted (if not muted previously). The number of tones presented is determined by the starting frequency, the number of grab handles selected, and the sweeping direction selected. When a tone is presented, the specific grab handle's color changes to green, and a ping animation encircles the grab handle during the tone presentation. Tip: Tones can also be presented at individual frequencies by double clicking on a single grab handle. Tip: To stop presenting the tones, click Stop
. - Make any necessary adjustments. Soft and loud gain adjustments can only be made graphically by dragging and dropping grab handles on the frequency response curve.

Note: All adjustments are directly related to the Channel adjustments and will directly impact gain and compression characteristics. - Repeat steps 4-7 to present tones on the loud response curve if applicable.
- Click
to verify the left ear if applicable and repeat steps 4-8.
Note: Click
to verify the right ear if the left ear was verified first.
