Load Settings

Whenever a previously saved live fitting session is opened via Noah, PatientBase, Top Toolbar, or the File Menu, a message to load the settings into connected devices displays. If Yes is selected, the Apply Session Settings pop-up automatically displays to select the desired hearing aids. All the hearing aids detected displays for selection and Update Firmware (if available). If No is selected but loading the settings into connected devices is later warranted during the live retrieved fitting session, the Apply Session Settings pop-up can be launched manually to select the desired hearing aids. If the settings are transferred, the retrieved fitting session automatically overwrites all existing fitting settings in the selected hearing aids except the vent size in custom devices.

Expose when Pro Fit released. Make sure "Open Pro Fit" is marked unavailable

If fitting one hearing aid and a second hearing aid is desired during the fitting, or if simulating and a live fitting is later desired, the Apply Session Settings pop-up cannot be launched manually to add a second aid or start a live fitting. Instead, you must navigate to the Connect screen and select the hearing aids to program.

  1. Open a previously saved live fitting session via Noah, PatientBase, Top Toolbar, or the File Menu, and a message to load the settings into connected devices displays.
Note:  Only a previously saved live fitting session can be transferred to connected devices.
  2. Click Yes and the Apply Session Settings Apply Session Settings pop-up displays.
Note: This pop-up also displays if Connect and Apply Settings was selected via Retrieve Session.
Note:  All the hearing aids connected to any programmer display. If hearing aids are within range of the Noahlink Wireless 2 or Noahlink Wireless Programmer and contain fully charged or fresh batteries but aren't detected, click refresh to execute a manual discovery. Although wired, Omega AI + and Signature CIC rechargeable products can only be programmed wirelessly via a Noahlink Wireless 2 or Noahlink Wireless Programmer. If programming 2.4 GHz products that have been paired and are currently connected to another device, either Bluetooth on the device or the device itself must be turned off for the Noahlink Wireless 2 or Noahlink Wireless Programmer to read and program the aids.
Note:  Only the wired and/or wireless programmers selected via Programmers can detect hearing aids. If you're having trouble establishing a wireless connection to the hearing aids you want to fit, click View programmers to detect all available programmers.
Tip:  Click No to not load the settings into connected devices. To load the settings later during the same live retrieved fitting session, click apply settings, and the Apply Session Settings pop-up displays.

    Hearing Aid Card

Selects the hearing aid(s) to load the settings into. The hearing aid(s) discovered for the patient selected in the Noah or PatientBase database are automatically selected. A blue line at the top indicates the selected card(s). Only one right and one left hearing aid connected to the same programmer can be selected. If two wireless hearing aids are paired and one side is selected, the opposite side is automatically selected. However, if both paired hearing aids are selected and one side is unselected, the opposite side is not unselected to allow a monaural fitting.

Patient Information Patient's name or "New" (if no patient name is stored in the device), product, matrix, serial number, and firmware version. The patient's name only displays if the hearing aid was previously fit to the patient and Show Patient Name for Devices is selected via Connect Preferences. If not selected, the patient's name is displayed in a tooltip by pointing to "Name Hidden".

R/L Radio Button Selects the hearing aid or transmitter side. If two hearing aids are paired and one side is changed (e.g., L to R), the other will change automatically (e.g., R to L). Only displays for standard wireless hearing aids or transmitters.
Connect and Apply Settings Loads the settings into the selected device(s). This button is only available if a hearing aid is selected.
Update Firmware Updates the hearing aid firmware to operate at a more advanced performance level. This option is only available if Pro Fit identifies a newer firmware version is available on the PC for the connected hearing aid(s).
  3. Click the hearing aid(s) to load the settings into.
  4. Click Connect and Apply Settings or Update Firmware (if available).
Note:  If the live retrieved fitting session does not match the selected hearing aid's fitting session, Swap Fit automatically launches if the hearing aid is compatible. If the hearing aid is incompatible, the transfer is canceled, and a message to select a different fitting session displays. Click Yes to select a different fitting session or click No to not open a different fitting and return to the live retrieved fitting session.
Note: A message displays if the patient's most recent saved fitting session was opened but the hearing aid(s) settings are newer. Click Yes to load the settings or swap fit or click Cancel to cancel loading the settings.
Note:  The Save Session screen displays if changes were made to the live retrieved fitting session that wasn't saved. Session Notes hyperlinks display based on the session's completeness. If topics were entered but adjustments weren’t assigned, no topics and notes were entered, or unresolved topics from the previous visit remain, a hyperlink to visit Session Notes appears. Clicking it cancels the save. If topics were entered and adjustments were assigned or no adjustments were needed, and all prior topics were resolved, the options to export the session notes or copy them to the clipboard appear. Click Yes to save the session to Noah or PatientBase, click No to not save the session, or click Cancel to cancel loading the settings into the selected hearing aid(s).
Note:  If the hearing aid(s) contains a lock code that doesn't match the code via General Preferences, it must be entered to unlock the aid before the settings can be loaded. Enter the four digit code and click OK. If the correct code is entered or matches the code via General Preferences initially, the hearing aid is automatically unlocked and must be locked again if desired via Device Access Settings. If the code is unknown, click Cancel to cancel loading the settings and return to the Connect screen, or click Clear Settings and Reset Device to clear all settings and patient data from the hearing aid and return it to the default settings.
Note:  Pro Fit requires a minimum of four audiometric thresholds at 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 Hz. If any of these thresholds are missing on the patient's audiogram, Pro Fit automatically predicts the missing data and provides the option to either use this predicted data or edit the audiogram. If there's a conflict between the audiogram in the hearing aid and Noah or PatientBase, a dialog box asks which audiogram to use. Click Hearing Aid to use the hearing aid's audiogram or click Office System to use Noah or PatientBase's audiogram.
Note:  If paired wireless hearing aids that don't have matching wireless capabilities and the same configuration were selected, the Wireless Settings Conflict dialog would display, asking you to select which device has the desired functionality for your fitting. Click Select for the source hearing aid, and Pro Fit automatically changes the settings in the other hearing aid to match those of the selected hearing aid, or click Cancel to cancel the fitting and return to the Connect screen. See Wireless Programming for more information.
Tip:  Click X in the upper right hand corner to close the Apply Session Settings pop-up without selecting a hearing aid.
  5. Once the session is successfully loaded, a message displays. Click OK.
  6. Program the hearing aid(s).
Note:  If programming a wireless hearing aid, the physical user control, if applicable, is disabled during the fitting. Once the fitting session is complete, the physical user controls can be re-enabled to test the hearing aid without exiting Pro Fit. See Wireless Programming for more information.
Note:  The connection status icons will change as the hearing aid(s) is programmed.
Note:  If programming a wireless hearing aid and the connection is lost during the fitting, Pro Fit automatically attempts to reestablish the connection for 15 seconds. If this is unsuccessful, a message displays indicating the specific side(s) that went out of range and to reestablish connection. See Wireless Programming for more information.
