Session Notes

Session Notes allow you to document the topic(s) discussed during a patient’s visit, link any adjustments made to those topics, and indicate whether each topic was resolved during the visit or should be revisited at the next appointment. You can then export the notes and hearing aid information to a text file or copy them to the clipboard, which can be pasted into your office system. Pro Fit tracks the adjustments made per program (excluding ‘Custom’ programs) during the session, and each adjustment can be assigned to one or more topics. You can begin by adding topics in Session Notes and then make and assign adjustments, or you can make adjustments first and later assign them to topics in Session Notes.

AdjustmentsAdjustments

Details are tracked via buttons when specific adjustments or actions are made during fitting. The type of adjustment determines the button’s label, behavior, or visibility. Adjustments can originate from the left navigation (e.g., Quick Fit, Sound Manager) or global actions (e.g., Acoustics, Fitting Formula). The following rules apply:

  1. Equivalent monaural adjustments are combined into one button.
  2. Offsetting adjustments remove the button; otherwise, it is updated.
  3. Undoing an adjustment or action removes the related button(s).
  4. Reset actions remove related buttons; undoing the reset restores them.
  5. Copying a program removes all adjustment buttons from the destination program.
  6. Moving a program updates buttons to reflect the new location.
  7. Copying Tinnitus settings removes related buttons from the destination program.
  8. Linked program adjustments (excluding indicator changes) show a , referencing the program where the adjustment was made.

Each button  briefly summarizes the adjustment made (e.g., “Speech in Noise: 3 >> 4,” “Wind: 4 >> 3,” “Fitting Formula: NAL-NL2 >> e-STAT 2.0,” etc.), program # and name (e.g., "1 *Personal," "2 Restaurant," etc.),  linked program indicator (if applicable), and side(s) affected (R, L). If the content exceeds the available space, an ellipsis (…) will appear. Full details are shown in a tooltip when hovered over.

Adjustments can be assigned, moved, or removed from topics using drag-and-drop or click-to-assign methods. You can assign individual, multiple, or all adjustments simultaneously, with visual indicators (highlighted regions and notification badges). Pro Fit automatically scrolls the screen if the target topic is out of view and expands collapsed topics when adjustments are assigned.

TopicsTopics

Topics can be added, edited, or removed during editable sessions. If the content exceeds the available space, an ellipsis (…) will appear. Full details are shown in a tooltip when hovered over.

Once topics are entered, adjustments can be assigned and indicated if they were resolved. If "Check at next session" is selected, Pro Fit will ask if it was resolved at the next session.

Editing and Retrieving Session NotesEditing and Retrieving Session Notes

When retrieving the most recent fitting session with 'Allow Edit Actions' enabled in Noah Console, all session notes (e.g., topics, adjustments) can be edited. Topics marked “Check at next session” are flagged as unresolved and will trigger an alert in the next session.

If a hearing aid adjustment is made or a new or updated audiogram is applied during the retrieved session, a message to start a new draft session appears. Session note edits will be lost if not saved.

  1. Connect and select the desired hearing aid(s) to adjust via Connect.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. Click Session Notes  on the Left Navigation Bar.
Note:  If there were unresolved topics from the last session, a banner appears at the top of the screen. Click Yes, or No longer a concern if the issue has been resolved or is no longer bothersome. Click No, revisit, and the topic is added to today's session. Once all topics are addressed, the banner disappears.
Tip:  An alert  will be displayed on the Left Navigation Bar if there are unresolved topics from the last session or if session notes are incomplete in the current session.
  4. To add a topic, click in the Topic field, enter the topic, and click Add. Repeat this step to add more topics if necessary.
  5. To edit a topic, click on the Topic, edit the topic, and click Update.
Note:  Clicking elsewhere or navigating to another screen exits edit mode without saving.
  6. Make adjustments to address the topic(s) if not done previously.
  7. To assign one adjustment, drag the button to the topic area(s). To assign multiple adjustments, click the buttons and drag them to the topic area(s). To assign all adjustments, click Select All and drag them to the topic area(s).

Note:  To remove an adjustment, click  or drag it back to the adjustment area. To move an adjustment to another topic, drag it to the desired topic area. For multiple adjustments, click the buttons, then drag them back to the adjustment area or the desired topic area. To remove a topic and all assigned adjustments, click X on the topic.
  8. Enter additional notes.
  9. Enable or disable to include hearing aid information with the notes. Hover over the text to show the information in a tooltip.
  10. Click Export Session Notes or Copy Session Notes to Clipboard to save or copy the notes to a text file or the clipboard, respectively, if desired.
Note:  If Pro Fit was launched from Noah 4, any existing session notes—such as adjustments, topics, or unresolved notes from the previous session—are saved to the patient's Journal in Noah. Clicking the  shows the notes in Noah’s Report Viewer. If Include FastData when saving sessions to Noah is checked via General Preferences, session notes are also included in the .pdf, unless only unresolved topics from the last session exist. Subsequent saves update the same journal entry and .pdf. A journal entry is created during the next save if session notes were added after the initial save.
