Fitting Graphs

Determine how and what displays on the fitting graphs based on the view and preferences selected, the hearing aid features enabled, etc. See Graph Display via General Preferences, Target Levels via Target Preferences, and the sections below for more information.

Graph Views

Pro Fit offers several different options for viewing the hearing aid responses. These options are available for selection via the Display menu only when a supported Fitting screen is currently displayed.

  • 2cc Coupler Gain - Settings displayed with reference to 2cc Coupler Gain (dB).
  • 2cc Coupler Output - Settings displayed with reference to 2cc Coupler Output (dB SPL). This is the default display for Hearing Aid Test.
  • Predicted Insertion Gain - Settings displayed regarding Predicted Insertion Gain (dB).
  • Real Ear Response - Settings displayed regarding Predicted Real Ear Output or the response measured in the patient’s ear (dB SPL). This is the default graphical view but can be changed via General Preferences.
  • Multicurve - View settings for a single input level for all active programs.
  • Input Type: Speech - Settings displayed are based on speech inputs (Long Term Average Speech Spectrum). This default target input stimulus can be changed via Target Preferences.
  • Input Type: Sinusoid - Settings displayed are based on sinusoidal inputs.
  • Display Input - Settings displayed with curves within certain fitting graphs based on the Input Type selected.
  • Display Max Stable Gain - View shading for either Maximum Stable Gain (MSG) (if Feedback Canceller was initialized) or Full on Gain (if not initialized) in 2cc Coupler Gain or Predicted Insertion Gain views only. Feedback is likely to occur if any portion of the hearing aid response is close to or higher than the bottom edge of the shaded region.

Whenever fitting in a screen with a graphical view (e.g., Quick Fit, Fine Tuning, Programs, etc.), details regarding the hearing aid are displayed in a tooltip by pointing to the product name. Information such as style, volume control, number of programs, serial number, firmware version, etc., is displayed.

Graph Legend

A graph legend identifying the curves, shaded regions, and icons on the graph displays when pointing or hovering over in the lower left hand corner of most fitting graphs. In addition, the graphical view and input stimulus selected via the Display menu and the matrix (e.g., 126/22/10 Real Ear Response: Speech) display on the fitting graph. The reference is updated automatically if the graphical view and/or input stimulus are changed during the current fitting session. To display this information on the fitting graph during the current fitting session, click . Clicking this icon again hides this information.

Graph Icons and Shading

When specific hearing aid features are enabled, icons (which are hyperlinks to the specific screens) display in the upper left or right hand corner of most fitting graphs or shading appears. The table below shows the icons and shading and identifies the features.
