Clear Settings and Reset Device

Clear Settings and Reset Device clears all settings from the hearing aid and returns it to the default settings. Wired and wireless custom and wireless standard hearing aids can be reset. The patient's name and audiogram are only removed from standard devices. Standard hearing aids are set to averaged modeled gain, and custom hearing aids are Best Fit based on the audiogram stored in the device, which sets the feature settings back to their original defaults. The receiver type for RICs is set back to their original defaults (stock or custom cased). In addition, wireless hearing aids and their paired accessories and/or phones, if applicable, are unpaired once the reset is complete. When resetting CROS/BiCROS devices, the receiver aid is reset to a hearing aid, and the transmitter remains a transmitter but is unpaired from the receiver.

  1. Connect and select the desired hearing aid(s) to reset via Connect.
  2. Click Connect.
Note:  A message is displayed if a hearing aid cannot be read due to invalid parameters. Disconnect and reconnect the aid and then continue at step 3.
  3. Click Tools from the Menu Bar.
  4. Click Clear Settings and Reset Device and the Save Session screen will appear.
  5. Session Notes hyperlinks display based on the session's completeness. If topics were entered but adjustments weren’t assigned, no topics and notes were entered, or unresolved topics from the previous visit remain, a hyperlink to visit Session Notes appears. Clicking it cancels the save. If topics were entered and adjustments were assigned or no adjustments were needed, and all prior topics were resolved, the options to export the session notes or copy them to the clipboard appear.
  6. Click Yes.
Tip:  Click No to not save the session or click Cancel to cancel resetting the hearing aid(s). If custom programs were adjusted during the session, this data would not be saved to the My Starkey mobile application if No is selected.
  7. Pro Fit automatically defaults to resetting a binaural  set of hearing aids if applicable. To reset only the right or left hearing aid, click Select Right Only or Select Left Only.
Note:  If resetting CROS/BiCROS devices, only the receiver aid can be reset; therefore, the side cannot be selected.
  8. Click Begin and a progress bar indicates the overall status of completion.
Tip:  Click Cancel to cancel the reset.
  9. Click OK once the reset is complete and the Connect screen automatically displays.
