Programs
Programs customizes the patient's hearing aid based on his/her lifestyle (e.g., music listener, television watcher, etc.). Based on the hearing aid connected or simulated, determine the programs (e.g., Music, Television, etc.) and the number (e.g., 2, 4, etc.) available. The program selected modifies the frequency shaping and/or compression characteristics based on the *Personal program; therefore, at least one program must be set to *Personal.
Programs can be configured in two ways. Configure Phone Options or Configure Phone and Loop Options selects the programs, configures telephone Offsets, microphone attenuation Offsets for Telecoil, Autocoil, or Loop signals, and enables/disables the microphone and telecoil, if applicable. Additional Configuration Options copy, move, and link programs and enable/disable program button functionality (e.g., Telephone Release time, Include program 4 in rotation, etc.).
Telephone ProgramsTelephone Programs
Up to 4 different telephone programs may be available in the drop-down list. Autophone is only available if the hearing aid contains an automatic telephone response, Telecoil is only available if the hearing aid contains an induction coil, and Autocoil is only available if the hearing aid contains both an induction coil and automatic telephone response. If both Autophone and Autocoil are available, only one program, not both, can be selected for the hearing aid. If a telephone program is desired, it's highly recommended you configure it in the last program (e.g., 2, 4, etc.). When binaurally fitting wireless products except for CROS/BiCROS, the option to enable a telephone program for the right only, left only, both, right sends signal to left, or left sends signal to right can be selected. If only one ear side is selected, the Offset or Receive Signal program is automatically selected for the opposite ear side. See Wireless Telephone Options for more information.

Meeting Suitable for patients who regularly attend meetings or meet in small groups. Defaults to an adaptive directional response that adapts to the input level and signal-to-noise ratio to provide the best response for the environment. Crowd Designed for patients who spend a lot of time in large groups with increased background noise. Defaults to an adaptive directional response that adapts to the input level and signal-to-noise ratio to provide the best response for the environment and assist with speech understanding. Restaurant Ideal for patients who are frequently in environments with high background noise. Defaults to an adaptive directional response that adapts to the input level and signal-to-noise ratio to provide the best response for the environment and assist with speech understanding. Car Optimal for patients who travel by car periodically. Defaults to an automatic directional or omni-directional response (based on the hearing aid connected or simulated) to amplify inputs from all directions equally. It also provides a slight reduction in the mid frequencies. Tinnitus Intended for patients with tinnitus. If selected, either Audiogram-shaped or White Noise defaults via Tinnitus, and the stimulus is automatically paused. Auditorium Ideal for patients who spend time in large venues such as theatres or auditoriums. Boosts the overall loudness level of the hearing aid and uses an omni-directional response to amplify sounds from all directions equally. Music Suitable for patients who enjoy listening to music or playing an instrument. Automatically sets up behind-the-scenes features that are more useful for musicians to provide a richer sound. This program's overall soft music gain can be adjusted, and the Bass, Mid, and Treble overall music gains can be adjusted at specific frequencies via Quick Fit. Television Ideal for patients who spend a lot of time watching television. Boosts the frequency range transmitted via televisions to enhance speech understanding from the television. Defaults to an automatic directional response to capture the input from the television’s speakers. Outdoors Suitable for patients who want to take in all of the sounds of nature. Defaults to an omni-directional response to amplify inputs from all directions equally. It also adjusts the advanced features settings, particularly Wind, to maximize comfort. Mute Designed for patients who want to turn the mic off in the hearing aid without removing the aid from their ear. A "Mute Program Mic Off" watermark appears across the frequency response curve if selected. Telephone Designed for patients who spend a lot of time talking on the phone. Adjusts the frequency response to match that of the telephone handset, improving audibility when talking on the phone. It also disables the automatic telephone response and induction coil, if applicable. Autophone Ideal for patients who want the hearing aid to automatically switch to telephone mode when a phone is placed near it. This environment is available only if the hearing aid has an automatic telephone response. This program cannot be selected for Program 1. Telecoil Optimal for patients who spend a lot of time talking on the phone or using an assistive listening device. This program activates the telecoil and is only available if the hearing aid contains an induction coil. In addition, this program provides the option to reduce the phone hearing aid's microphone by various degrees to minimize distraction from environmental sounds when talking on the phone, or to enable or disable both the microphone and telecoil. This program cannot be selected for Program 1. Autocoil Ideal for patients who want the hearing aid to automatically activate the telecoil electromagnetically when the phone is placed near the aid. This program activates the telecoil and is available only if the hearing aid has an induction coil. In addition, this program provides the option to reduce the phone hearing aid's microphone by various degrees to minimize distraction from environmental sounds when talking on the phone, or to enable or disable both the microphone and telecoil. This program cannot be selected for Program 1. Offset Designed for patients who prefer to use one ear when talking on the phone. Reduces microphone gain by various degrees in the non-phone hearing aid to minimize distraction from environmental sounds when talking. This program is only available if binaurally fitting wireless products except for CROS/BiCROS and right only or left only was selected for a telephone program. Receive Signal Designed for patients who use a landline phone and prefer binaural listening (Ear-to-Ear phone streaming) when talking.
