Auto Sleep

Auto Sleep allows the patient to power down select hearing aids by simply placing the aid on a flat, hard surface with the receiver facing up rather than pressing and holding the user control (rechargeable products) or opening the battery door. This feature uses motion sensors within the aids, so if no motion is detected after 15 minutes, the aid enters a low-power modelow-power mode (small current drain on the battery) to preserve battery life. When the aid is placed back in the patient's ear, it automatically powers back on. Auto Sleep can be enabled/disabled via Fitting Summary or the My Starkey mobile application and is enabled/disabled automatically based on the Default Auto Sleep option selected via General Preferences for all products except CROS/BiCROS devices. CROS/BiCROS devices default disabled regardless of the preference selected.

If both Auto Sleep and Auto Alert (in the My Starkey mobile application) are enabled and a fall is detected, Auto Sleep will be suspended just in case the patient is motionless for more than 15 minutes. To reactivate Auto Sleep, reboot the hearing aids. Tinnitus Stimulus is not available in low-power mode; therefore, if both features are enabled, the aids may power down while listening to the stimulus. For CROS/BiCROS devices, this feature is only available for the receiver aid. However, the transmitter will power down after 30 minutes for rechargeable devices. For non-rechargeable devices, battery drain may be impacted if the aid is powered down at night via this feature rather than opening the battery door.
