Hearing Aid Selection

Hearing Aid Selection selects the hearing aid(s) circuit, style, options, user control, memories, and matrix to order or simulate. The catalog of hearing aids available is based on the target audience and locale selected via General Preferences.

The Hearing Aid Selection screen contains buttons for the product families available and when selected, provides a drop down menu of the circuits available within that family. Once a circuit is selected, the default and available styles, options, user controls, memories, and matrices display based on the patient's audiogram, if applicable.

Once a circuit is selected, the choices should be selected in sequential order as displayed on the screen, from left to right. The style is selected first, options second, user control third, memories fourth, and matrix last. Based on the circuit and style selected determines the options, user controls, memories, and matrices available. Some choices may be enabled/disabled or checked/unchecked once a selection is made in a specific category. For example, selecting a different user control may change the memory choices available. As selections are made, the thumbnail image automatically updates.

A matrix is automatically selected per ear side based on the patient's audiogram. If a valid audiogram exists, the 'best match' matrix defaults. The matrix selection is based on the reserve gain values, default fitting formula, binaural correction, and air-bone gap correction. If a valid audiogram has not been entered for the patient, the highest 'standard' gain matrix available defaults. If a 'standard' matrix is not available, the lowest 'power' gain matrix available defaults. The fitting range shown per ear side is based on the matrix selected. If Show Matrices in Select Select Products is selected via General Preferences, the numeric matrix displays in the drop down list. If selected, only the output and gain values (e.g., 110/40) display.

If ordering binaurally, different right and left hearing aids can be selected if the products are compatible. If the products are incompatible, the ear side that was selected first (e.g., right) is automatically cleared when an incompatible product is selected for the other ear side (e.g., left).

  1. Click Select Products Select Products via Get Started.

Tip:  Click Select Products from the Left Navigation Menu to access.
  2. Inspire automatically defaults to a binaural Select Binaural order if applicable. To order or simulate only the right or left ear side, click Select Right Only or Select Left Only.

  3. Click the preferred Product Family button and select the desired circuit.

Note:  Product specifications display in a tool tip by pointing to the specific circuit.
  4. Click on the radio button representing the desired style, user control, memories, and matrix. Click the checkbox to the left of the options to select or unselect, if available. To change the default matrix, select the desired matrix from the drop down list.
