Clear Settings and Reset Device

Clear Settings and Reset Device clears all settings and patient data from a hearing aid and returns it to the default settings. Wired and wireless standard and wireless custom hearing aids can be reset. Standard hearing aids are set to Full On Gain and custom hearing aids are Best Fit based on the audiogram stored in the device and set the feature settings back to their original defaults. The receiver type for Honor and Pride RICs are set back to their original defaults (stock or custom AP) but all other RICs are set back to stock. In addition, wireless hearing aids and their paired SurfLink Mobile or SurfLink Remote, if applicable, are unpaired once the reset is complete. When resetting CROS/BiCROS devices, the receiver aid is reset to a hearing aid and the transmitter remains a transmitter but is unpaired from the receiver.

  1. Connect and select the desired hearing aid(s) to reset via Get Started.

  2. Click on the Read Device Settings or Load a Previous Session radio button and then click .

    Note:  If a hearing aid cannot be read due to invalid parameters, a message displays. Disconnect and reconnect the aid and then continue at step 3.
  3. Click Tools from the Menu Bar.

  4. Click Clear Settings and Reset Device.

    Note:  If a session is currently in progress that hasn't been saved, the Save Fitting screen displays. Click Yes to save the session, click No to not save the session, or click Cancel to cancel resetting the hearing aid(s).
  5. Inspire automatically defaults to resetting a binaural Select Binaural set of hearing aids if applicable. To reset only the right or left hearing aid, click Select Right Only or Select Left Only.

    Note:  If resetting CROS/BiCROS devices, only the receiver aid can be reset, therefore, the side cannot be selected.
  6. Click Begin and a progress bar indicates the overall status of completion.

    Tip:  Click Cancel to cancel the reset.
  7. Click OK once the reset is complete and the Get Started screen automatically displays.
