Product Selection ProcessProduct Selection Process

The Product Simulator screen automatically defaults to showing the newest products first in order by technology level (highest to lowest) but provides the option to search for hearing aids by favorites, style, type (wireless, wired, and wireless CROS), product family, technology, and battery size. Once the filter options are selected, the number of hearing aids that meet the criteria is displayed. If specific products are simulated often, it's highly recommended you mark those hearing aids as "favorites" for quick selection. Once a circuit is selected, the default and available options, user controls, and matrices display on a secondary screen based on the patient's audiogram, if applicable.

Product preferences (e.g., product family, style, user control, etc.) can be changed on the secondary screen. Based on the circuit and style selected determines the options, user controls, and matrices available. Some choices may be available/unavailable if a different selection is made. For example, choosing a different style may change the options available. As selections are made, the thumbnail image automatically updates.

A receiver/matrix is automatically selected per ear side based on the patient's audiogram. If an audiogram exists, the 'best match' receiver/matrix defaults. However, M is the lowest gain receiver recommended for RICs with a stock receiver, but L can be selected if available. If an audiogram has not been entered for the patient, a flat 40 dB audiogram is used to select a default receiver/matrix. The fitting range shown per ear side is based on the receiver/matrix selected.

If simulating binaurally, different right and left hearing aids can be selected if the products are compatible. If the products are incompatible, the ear side selected first (e.g., right) is automatically cleared when an incompatible product is selected for the other ear side (e.g., left).
