Help Menu

The Help Menu provides the options to access online help and information for NOAH 3 (only displays if Inspire was launched from within NOAH 3) and Inspire, contact Customer Service and access support documents for Inspire, check for Inspire updates, and update the SurfLink Mobile's firmware. Click on any option below for more information.

NOAH Help

• Help Topics - Accesses online help for NOAH 3 only

  1. Click Help from the Menu Bar.

  2. Point to NOAH Help.

  3. Click Help Topics.

  4. Navigate help.

• About NOAH - Identifies the current version of NOAH 3 installed in your office

  1. Click Help from the Menu Bar.

  2. Point to NOAH Help.

  3. Click About NOAH.

  4. Click System Info to obtain information about your computer.

  5. Click X on the Title Bar to exit.

  6. Click NOAH Info to obtain information about NOAH.

  7. Click the + or double click on the item to expand the tree.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click License Info to obtain NOAH license information.

  10. Click OK.

  11. Click OK.

Inspire

• Help for Inspire - Accesses online help for Inspire

• Specsavers Online - Launches Starkey's website. This feature is only available if the PC has Internet access.

  1. Click Help from the Menu Bar.

  2. Point to Inspire if NOAH 3 is installed.

  3. Click Specsavers Online and Starkey's website opens in a new browser session.

• Audiology on Demand - Accesses Customer Service online for live assistance. This feature is only available if the PC has Internet access.

• About Inspire - Identifies the current version of Inspire installed in your office, emails system information to Inspire Software/Audiology Support for assistance, and tests DirectX components and drivers

  1. Click Help from the Menu Bar.

  2. Point to Inspire if NOAH 3 is installed.

  3. Click About Inspire.

     Note:  The Standard View automatically defaults.

  4. Click System Information to obtain information about your computer.

  5. Click X on the Title Bar to exit.

  6. Click Advanced View.

     Note:  Details regarding other software versions (e.g., Audiology, DirectX, Internet Explorer, etc.) displays along with the target audience selected, manufacturers installed, etc.

  7. Click Send E-Mail (Summary) or Send E-Mail (Full Details) to send system information to Inspire Software/Audiology Support if assistance is required.

     Tip:  If Send E-Mail (Full Details) was selected, a message displays indicating the extraction of the system information may take awhile. Click Yes to continue or click No to cancel the extraction.

  8. Enter email information.

     Field Name	Description	Details
     TO	Inspire Software/Audiology Support's email address.	System assigned.
     CC	Identifies the email addresses to carbon copy.	Enter the recipient's email address or click CC to select recipient(s) email address(es) from the address book.
     Attach	Sends the system information log file to Software/Audiology Support for additional troubleshooting information.	System assigned. To send a different file, click Attach, identify the path including drive, folder, and filename and click Open.
     Subject	Subject of the message.	System assigned.
     Message	Details regarding the message.	Enter your name, account #, telephone #, and message.

  9. Click Send.

  10. Click Test DirectX to check if the DirectX components and drivers are working properly and a message displays asking if the digital signatures should be verified.

  11. Click Yes and the DirectX Diagnostic Tool screen displays.

      Tip:  Click No to not verify the digital signatures.

  12. Click Next Page to test the next component.

  13. Repeat step 12 until all components are tested.

      Note:  If any components failed, contact Inspire Support for assistance.

  14. Click Exit or click X on the Title Bar to exit.

  15. Click OK.

• About DSL v5 - Provides version information about DSL v5

  1. Click Help from the Menu Bar.

  2. Point to Inspire if NOAH 3 is installed.

  3. Click About DSL v5.

  4. Click OK.

• Cables & Connectors - Launches an Adobe® Portable Data File that provides information on the appropriate programming connection by style and product line

  1. Click Help from the Menu Bar.

  2. Point to Inspire if NOAH 3 is installed.

  3. Click Cables & Connectors and the .pdf opens in Adobe Reader.

  4. Click X on the Title Bar to exit.

• T² On Demand Worksheet - Launches an Adobe Portable Data File that provides information on the 10 Simple Steps to T² On Demand Adjustments and T² On Demand Adjustment Indicators

  1. Click Help from the Menu Bar.

  2. Point to Inspire if NOAH 3 is installed.

  3. Click T2 on Demand Worksheet and the .pdf opens in Adobe Reader.

  4. Click X on the Title Bar to exit.

• Inspire Software Support - Contacts Inspire Software Support via email for assistance. This feature is only available if the PC has Internet access.

  1. Click Help from the Menu Bar.

  2. Point to Inspire if NOAH 3 is installed.

  3. Click Inspire Software Support.

  4. Enter email information.

     Field Name	Description	Details
     To	Inspire Software Support's email address.	System assigned.
     CC	Identifies the email addresses to carbon copy.	Enter the recipient's email address or click CC to select recipient(s) email address(es) from the address book.
     Attach	Sends a file, document, screenshot, etc. to Software Support for additional troubleshooting information.	Click Attach, identify the path including drive, folder, and filename and click Open.
     Subject	Subject of the message.	300 Alphanumeric
     Message	Details regarding the message.	Unlimited.

  5. Click Send.

• Inspire Audiology Support - Contacts Inspire Audiology Support via email for assistance. This feature is only available if the PC has Internet access.

  1. Click Help from the Menu Bar.

  2. Point to Inspire if NOAH 3 is installed.

  3. Click Inspire Audiology Support.

  4. Enter email information.

     Field Name	Description	Details
     To	Inspire Audiology Support's email address.	System assigned.
     CC	Identifies the email addresses to carbon copy.	Enter the recipient's email address or click CC to select recipient(s) email address(es) from the address book.
     Attach	Sends a file, document, screenshot, etc. to Audiology Support for additional troubleshooting information.	Click Attach, identify the path including drive, folder, and filename and click Open.
     Subject	Subject of the message.	300 Alphanumeric
     Message	Details regarding the message.	Unlimited.

  5. Click Send.

• Check for Updates - Launches Inspire Updater to check if there is a more current version of Inspire available. This feature is only available if the PC has Internet access.

• SurfLink Mobile Firmware Updater - Updates the SurfLink Mobile's firmware to operate at a more advanced performance level, oftentimes making new features available. This feature is only available if the PC has Internet access.

  1. Click Help from the Menu Bar.

  2. Point to Inspire if NOAH 3 is installed.

  3. Click SurfLink Mobile Firmware Updater to launch http://www.starkeyhearingtechnologies.com/update/cped.

  4. Click on the Download SurfLink Mobile Firmware Update link.

  5. Click Run.

     Tip:  To save the file to your computer, click Save or Save As. If Save As was selected, identify the path including drive and folder and click Save. This is the location on your computer from which you will run the SurfLink Mobile Firmware Update program.

     Note:  Download times will be dependent on your computer and Internet connection speed. Please ensure that your computer will have uninterrupted time to complete the download.

  6. Once the download is complete, follow the on screen prompts to update the SurfLink Mobile's firmware.

     Tip:  If Save or Save As was selected in step 5, click Run and follow the on screen prompts, or click Open Folder and double click on the SurfLinkMobileUpdate.exe file.
