Audio File Management Preferences

Audio File Management Preferences creates and maintains audio categories and files for Media Player.

  1. Click Preferences from the Menu Bar.

  2. Click Audio File Management.

  3. Enter or edit audio file settings.

    Field Name Description Details
    Category Creates and maintains audio categories.   Categories are added per target audience and locale; therefore, if the same category is desired in multiple audiences and/or locales, it must be added per audience and locale.
    Audio Files Creates and maintains audio files per category. Audio files are added per target audience and locale; therefore, if the same audio file is desired in multiple audiences and/or locales, it must be added per audience and locale.
    Display Media Player Waveform Denotes whether or not to show the corresponding waveform when playing a sound in the Media Player. By default, the waveform is not shown.
    Display Media Player Picture Denotes whether or not to show the corresponding picture when playing a sound in the Media Player. By default, the picture is not shown.
  4. Click Add to add a category or click on the category to edit and click Edit.

    Note:  The categories provided by Inspire cannot be changed.
  5. Enter or edit category information.

    Field Name Description Details
    Category Name* Describes the category. Must be unique.
  6. Click OK to save the category.

    Tip:  Click Cancel to discard the changes.
  7. Click on the category in which to add or edit audio files.

  8. Click Add to add an audio file or click on the audio file to edit and click Edit Audio File.

    Note:  The audio files provided by Inspire cannot be changed.
  9. Enter or edit audio file information.

    *  Denotes required field
    Field Name Description Details
    Audio File* Identifies the path including drive, folder, and filename of the audio file. Only .wav and .mp3 audio files are supported. Enter the path or click Select Audio File to locate the audio file and click Open.
    Image Identifies the path including drive, folder, and filename of the image file. Only .bmp, .gif, and .jpg image files are supported. Enter the path or click Select Image to locate the image file and click Open.
    Display Name* Describes the audio file. Must be unique.
    If the display name is blank and the audio file is located via the browser, the filename automatically defaults.
  10. Click OK to save the audio file.

    Tip:  Click Cancel to discard the changes.
     
    Note:  The audio file was saved to the selected category as well as the List All category.
  11. To assign audio files to different categories, click the List All category.

  12. Click on the desired audio file or to assign multiple audio files, press and hold Ctrl and then click on the desired audio files.

  13. Press and hold the left mouse button and drag the audio files to the desired category. Release the left mouse button.

    Note:  The audio files provided by Inspire can only be assigned to categories not provided by Inspire. The audio files not provided by Inspire can be assigned to any category.
  14. Click OK to save the settings for this session and return to the currently displayed screen.

    Tip:  Click Cancel to discard the changes and return to the currently displayed screen.
     
    Tip:  Click Apply to save the settings for this session but remain in the Preferences menu.
     
    Tip:  Click Restore to Inspire Defaults to revert the aforementioned Inspire defaults back to their original default settings.
